Stay With Us at Ashridge House

We would love for you to stay on-site at Ashridge House and make a weekend of it with us. There’s a wide range of accommodation available, from cosy single rooms to elegant suites — all within the main house. Set in 190 acres of beautifully landscaped, historic gardens and surrounded by over 5,000 acres of ancient woodland, it’s the perfect setting for a proper escape. During your stay, you can immerse yourself in these tranquil and historic surroundings — from the formal flower beds to the Rose Garden, Monks’ Garden, and Italian Garden — enjoy a swim in the indoor pool, visit the gym, or simply unwind and take it all in. Golf lovers will also find a stunning course just moments away.

Steeped in history, Ashridge House was once a royal residence for Henry VIII and later a childhood home for Princess Elizabeth, who would become Queen Elizabeth I. As you wander the gardens, look out for the oak tree planted by Queen Victoria — one of many reminders of the estate’s extraordinary past. There are a variety of different rooms available, from cozy singles, through to indulgent suites. Find more information below.

For guests looking to stay close to the venue in the days leading up to the wedding, we recommend St Albans, a beautiful and historic town which is a 25 minute drive from Ashridge House. St Albans is over 2,000 years old, with origins as the Celtic settlement of Verlamion in the 1st century BC and later becoming the Roman city of Verulamium around AD 50.

St. Albans offer a great balance being in the picturesque British countryside, yet just a 20-minute direct train to central London, making day trips to the city very easy. For a cost-effective and comfortable option, we suggest the Premier Inn St Albans City Centre, while the Hilton St Albans Samuel Ryder offers a more upscale experience with elegant rooms and excellent amenities.
